Tori & Barney…Have no problems with the term "fuck buddies"

I’m not talking about the film with Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake but more about the term itself which seems to be very americanised and for the story I’m about to share with you, a more polite take on the use of the term  “fuck buddy”

I had a request as I usually do from a couple who wanted to do a shoot and it got as far as the introductory telephone conversation where I allow the couples to have a bit of a Q&A about the shoots to get them excited about the day or just allay any fears they may have doing it for the first time.

In this situation I was speaking to the female half of the couple who werent a couple

It was all going so swimmingly, she was a woman in her 50′s, (something sorely lacking on the site)

So, as she proceeded to explain what kind of couple they were, in that they are not really a couple but have been seeing each other for some time but are in seperate relationships but having an affair, I displayed a lack of people skills by blurting out,  in laymans terms:

“Oh so you’re fuck buddies then?”

“No! We’re not fuck buddies. We care about each other a bit more than to be called that”

“Oh sorry for my crude language but this is what we term as fuck buddies in the porn business”

“Well I dont like it. I think its rude! And certainly not how I would describe our relationship which is a lot more special than to be called that”

“I apologise if I offended you. I’m just used to speaking in direct terms like this”

I managed to pacify her enough to go along with the shoot date which never happened in the end because I didnt call her the week before. She instantly assumed the shoot was off and made other plans when I did call her a couple days before.

So from now on I’ll speak in a more civilised manner and refer to what was known as fuck buddies as “friends with benefits”. The silly thing about this american faux polite term is that in Britan this could easily be misunderstood as lovers on DHSS.

The words “damned if I do, damned if I don’t come to mind…

It was interesting enough to merit a mention here I thought and all part of dealing with real people in the real world. We do have one couple who do fit this description. Tori and Barney were open with the fact they were in relationships with other people who actually knew about their shagging around at swingers parties, videos and some such.

In fact, Tori and Barney were so kinky I will have to write up on them  in our Blast From The Past  soon I think.
